Apollo 11

1. Summary

Apollo 11 is a Brothers Grimm cross of the Genius clone and a Cinderella 99 male. Genius is Princess's sister from the same Sensi Smile Jack Herer bud. Apollo 11 was in the Seeds Direct catalog by 2001 and was sold as a short, heavily branched, very resinous, sativa-dominant indoor hybrid.¹² The old breeder text says it "finishes flowering in 7 weeks or less"; the current text says 55–63 days.³² Unlike Apollo 13 and C99, its parentage is consistent in every source found. MrSoul is quoted saying "Apollo 11's dad is Cinderella 99".³ Only a forum snippet adds that the father was the same male as the then-current C99 (P94) generation.⁴

The "Genius pheno" became a breeding pillar after the 2002 closure:

• Joey Weed and Reservoir Seeds versions (c. 2002), including Reservoir's A-11 G4;⁵⁶
• Bodhi's A11G F3, selected from a large population of original BG stock via Fet;⁷
• a 2024 community F4 preservation run.⁸

In 2016–17 Brothers Grimm remade Apollo 11 as a feminized line, Apollo XX, now sold as "Apollo". It crosses Genius with a reversed C99 female.⁹¹⁰ The BG page now says regular Apollo Eleven is no longer available.¹¹ Veteran growers report that relaunch plants grow differently from the originals but taste recognisably like them.¹²¹³¹⁴

3a. Genius × Cinderella 99 male

Confidence: verified (catalog and breeder texts across eras) Seeds Direct (2001) lists Apollo 11 as Genius × C99 male.¹ The breeder text says: "Our big-yielding, lime-citrus scented female clone named 'Genius'… was crossed with a robust Cinderella 99 male to create Apollo Eleven."²¹¹ The old version of the text says "lemon-scented".³ MrSoul (quoted 2010): "The father of Apollo 13 was P.75 whereas Apollo 11's dad is Cinderella 99."³

3c. The Genius mother

Confidence: verified as the breeder's account. Genius became "the mother of the Brothers Grimm Apollo lines".² For the contested Jack Herer origin, see the princess dossier. A long-time grower says many growers had the Genius clone "because of Soul's generosity".¹⁵ MrSoul says friends held clones of his "two most important females" through the 2002–2015 hiatus.¹⁶

3d. Feminized remake: Apollo XX

Confidence: verified (breeder text) This was BG's first feminized line. It was researched in 2016: an STS-reversed C99 female was used as the pollen donor onto Genius.⁹ It is now sold as "Apollo", which "pay[s] homage to the original Apollo Eleven".¹⁰

• c. 1999–2001: release. A grower first grew BG A-11 "around 2000 or '01".⁵
• 2001: listed in the Seeds Direct catalog as bg11.¹
• 2002: BG closes. Joey Weed and Reservoir Seeds sell A11-derived seeds; Reservoir's A-11g4 is praised for stability.⁵⁶
